Kedah govt in turmoil,
Penang faces villagers’ revolt

Angry residents of Kampung Buah Pala have threatened to send a letter to Unesco to revoke George Town’s World Heritage Site status should the state fail to stop their village from being demolished. And in Kedah, the DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said the party pulled out from Pakatan Rakyat in Kedah because it is not getting any respect from the PAS-led state government.

Reserve land cleared for reforestation

An area covering 443ha of the 10,000ha forest reserve land in Rantau Panjang and nearby Bukit Terak in Hulu Selangor is being cleared as part of the reforestation efforts to bring revenue to the state.
